AEP has selected Matt Cybulski to serve as senior manager – Economic & Business Development, effective April 5, 2021. In this role, based in Columbus, Ohio, Matt will lead the execution of the AEP Ohio economic development strategy and assist external economic development partners in bringing additional jobs to the communities we serve.
Prior to joining AEP in April 2021, Matt spent the last 10 years serving in various roles at JobsOhio, Ohio’s privatized economic development organization. Matt had been with JobsOhio since its inception in 2011. During his tenure with JobsOhio, Matt served as a project and site selection manager and managed major attraction and expansion projects across Ohio. He also served in leadership capacities as the director of project management and his most recent role as the managing director of energy and chemicals.
Before joining JobsOhio, Matt served in project management and leadership positions at the Ohio Business Development Coalition, the Ohio Department of Development, and the Will County Center for Economic Development in Joliet, Illinois, and the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Matt is a native of Steubenville, Ohio, and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degree in public administration from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing golf and ice hockey when time permits. Matt and his wife Carolyn reside in Dublin, OH, and are parents to their son Walter and daughter Eleanor.
